I am the one who has come for the first time.
No bringer of light returns,
Even though he might prophesy his return
Whilst still on earth.
What returns to changing worlds
Is the First Word alone,
Shining in the First Light
From the First Being.
The First Word
In which all ‘words’ are
It eternally begets as ‘sons’
For itself from the eternal: –
As ‘Father’ eternally at onewith them, –
Begetting eternal lifefor the begotten.
Only in this wise do those on earth
Who offered themselves eternities ago,
Reveal themselves in earthly manner, –
Comprehensible for those living now and in the future.
