Prerequisite

Those who wish to ‘understand’me,

Will always find it hard

To comprehend my words,

For what I have to give

Seeks to become experience, –

Not the vanishing object of reason!

Words which in the receiver

Do not sink into the deep

And in the very depth

Can changehis soul,

May be of use to

Earthly cerebral thought,

Even when offering the receiver

No spiritual experience.

My words, however, become

Only the receiver’s reason’s own

Once they have effected change

In the profoundest depths of his soul:

At the place were prayers alive in spirit

Cried out for freedomfrom the fetters

Of cerebral thinking.
